Plus au large, la barrière récifale délimite un lagon dans lequel baignent quelques récifs internes. Le récif frangeant est le plus exposé aux impacts anthropiques divers venant des terres émergées. C’est pourquoi, un suivi de l’état de santé de ce récif est réalisé tous les 7 ans depuis 1989. Les objectifs de cette étude sont donc les suivants :\r\n1. Réaliser un inventaire des espèces de poissons récifaux observés dans chacun des sites, avec élaboration de listes d’espèces zonées ;\r\n2. Apprécier l’abondance des poissons au sein des sites du projet ;\r\n3. Apprécier la composition des peuplements, en terme de diversité taxonomique (familles et espèces principales), de structure trophique, pour chacun des sites ;\r\n4.
